This was an increase of 15 per cent compared to October 2010, and stands just a dozen sales below the record for October sales set in 2009.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0cm 0cm 0pt;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:'Verdana','sans-serif';font-size:10pt;"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0cm 0cm 0pt;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:'Verdana','sans-serif';font-size:10pt;"&gt;The average price of homes sold in October was $271,536, a decrease of four per cent from the same month last year.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0cm 0cm 0pt;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:'Verdana','sans-serif';font-size:10pt;"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0cm 0cm 0pt;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:'Verdana','sans-serif';font-size:10pt;"&gt;New residential listings numbered 381 units in October 2011. This was down four per cent from a year earlier.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0cm 0cm 0pt;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:'Verdana','sans-serif';font-size:10pt;"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0cm 0cm 0pt;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:'Verdana','sans-serif';font-size:10pt;"&gt;Active listings continue to run at elevated levels. There were 1,726 active residential listings on the Association&amp;rsquo;s MLS&amp;reg; System at the end of October 2011, an increase of 16 per cent from levels at the end of October 2010.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0cm 0cm 0pt;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:'Verdana','sans-serif';font-size:10pt;"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0cm 0cm 0pt;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:'Verdana','sans-serif';font-size:10pt;"&gt;There were 11.1 months of inventory at the end of October on a seasonally adjusted basis, down from 13 months in September.
